    Add a pop of coral

    Screen Shot 2016-08-17 at 10.12.42

You may remember this kitchen feature from our September issue.

We had loads of fun shooting Samantha’s kitchen and loved her use of bold coral accessories against the neutral backdrop. Here are some of our favourite items from the shoot.

All products can be found on notonthehighstreet.com

These faux orange roses are a great way to bring some colour into the kitchen. Placed in a glass vase, these flowers add life and vibrancy to the room, and you won’t have to worry about replacing them every week, which is an added bonus.

    Artificial Orange Tea Rose

This ‘Like a Boss’ print is bold, fun and quirky. It adds a burst of colour and word art products are really on trend, so give it a contemporary look, too.

'Like A Boss' Faux Gold Foil Print

Frame an old photo with a modern, border for an updated look. Clashing vintage with modern is very much on trend and the use of the patterned edges is a nice eye-catching touch.

    Coral Print Wooden Photo Frame

We love this dipped coral basket – perfect for placing small bits and bobs and keeping the place tidy. The bright colour unifies the other coral accessories and completes the look.

Light up your room with Hive Bulbs

    by  • August 15, 2016 • Heroes • 0 Comments

Young man using digital tablet in his living room

The Hive Active Light bulbs are a new life changing innovation that you won’t believe you have ever lived without. These smart LED bulbs not only save energy and reduce the cost of your energy bills but can also be controlled whenever, wherever you like, through the use of your smartphone – making them perfect for today’s busy lifestyle.

With the allowance of schedules to be set for the lights to come on, off and dim, you can feel at ease that no-one will know when you are not home. Stumbling around in the dark looking for the light switch will be a thing of the past and, much to the annoyance of the kids, you can also use them as a morning alarm, turning the bedside lamp on, meaning you wont have to deal with the hassle. Or even controlling when it’s time for lights out!

The bulbs are as easy to install as a regular bulb and are available in both screw and bayonet formats. Just pair them with a Hive Hub and you can get started right away. The initial cost of a Hive Hub is priced at £80, however after that one off payment, it is only £19 per bulb, which we think is worth it, considering they provide security, safety, and, most importantly, peace of mind.

For more information head over to the Hive website here.

Style at Home visit a wedding wonderland with Notonthehighstreet.com

    by  • May 10, 2016 • Craft • 0 Comments

With wedding season coming into full swing, online retailer Notonthehighstreet.com put on a fabulous showcase of their wedding products for journalists and bloggers to check out. Held at Clifton Nurseries, a hidden gem in the heart of Little Venice, the team had worked alongside wedding stylists, Knot & Pop, to decorate the venue with this year’s hottest wedding trends. The tables were beautifully styled to reflect each trend; rustic romance, pretty pastels, bold and bright, and chic and modern (including hints of copper and marble).

It was wonderful to see a wide selection of the products that Notonthehighstreet.com have to offer for the wedding market; everything from stationery to favours, jewellery to venue decorations…it really is a one-stop-shop for any bride to be! The day kicked off with a stamping workshop, hosted by Notonthehighstreet seller Little Stamp Company. The company makes all sorts of stamps, including a huge range of wedding designs so couples can customise and make their own wedding stationery and create their own style to continue through their designs; from save the dates right up to the place settings. You can even have one large design made up as a single stamp in A5 size to save time. We had lots of fun testing out the stamps and getting messy with the inks and think it’s a brilliant idea for any budget-savvy brides.

Next we had a whistle-stop tour to learn the art of brush lettering, with Notonthehighstreet.com seller The Lovely Drawer. Having watched our tutor, the lovely Teri, demonstrating the various techniques, we got stuck in and followed a handy guide to practise each letter. We soon learnt that it certainly isn’t as easy as it looks! Armed with an ink pot and paintbrush, we were sent away to carry on practising and developing our own styles to create anything from personalised wedding stationery to typographic prints to hang around the home.

Our third and final workshop of the day was hosted by Notonthehighstreet.com seller Gin Tales. We eagerly made our own cocktails following steps and using the flavoured gins made by Gin Tales (lavender was a particular favourite of ours!) which you can buy as miniature wedding favour bottles or larger bottles to stock the bar.

We were also lucky enough to have a guest talk from renowned bridal designer, Kate Halfpenny of Halfpenny London. She showcased a range of her newest designs to hit the bridal catwalks and teamed each dress with accessories from Notonthehighstreet.com to complete the look. Jewellery, hairpieces, clutch bags and lots more are all available to buy through the online retailer and can add the perfect finishing touches to your look, without breaking the bank.

So if you’re tying the knot this summer, head over to Notonthehighstreet.com’s wedding section to browse their ranges and pull together your perfect look from what their talented sellers have to offer.
