    Hillary's blinds and curtains

With so many fabric designs to choose from, picking one for your curtains or blinds can be pretty mind boggling. Scandi style is a massive trend (and one we love here at Style at Home!) and so we were thrilled when we came across Hillary’s new Natur Roman blinds and curtains collection. Inspired by the scenery and simple design philosophy of Scandinavia, it includes a wide range of contemporary fabrics you’ll love.

With stripes, geometrics prints and bold patterns in colourways of coral, dove grey and mineral blue, you can really brighten up your home. We particularly love the Rain stripe design.

Hillary’s provides a fantastic made-to-measure service, which includes a dedicated advisor to visit you and show you the full product range. They can help you to choose the right blinds or curtains for your budget, measure your windows and come and fit them at a time to suit you.

It’s also fantastic for picking up some fabulous pre-owned furniture – just right for one of our Style at Home upcyling projects.

    Here’s how it works

    2. Create your first listing. All you need is 3-8 quality pictures of your item – this sellers guide will help you make your item as attractive as possible. Add the product name, description, price and dimensions.

    1. Submit your listing for a quick quality check and once approved, the FurnitureEtc team will lovingly edit your pics to make sure your item is well presented.

    1. Your listing will be published on FurnitureEtc in 3-5 working days, where the team will promote it on your behalf.

    The details

It’s free to list as many items as you like and they take 20% commission (plus VAT) on each sale. All items must be preloved, with a minimum listing value of £200 per product.

The online seller account system makes it easy to manage your listings, track your orders and add new items whenever you like. Payments for all sales are made 14 days after your item has been collected. Simple!

    Update your wall with stripes

    by  • January 6, 2016 • Styling • 0 Comments

We’ve all heard the term ‘feature wall’ but hands up if you immediately think of wallpaper… Well, you may want to think again, as using paint to create a striking statement is just as easy, and the beauty is that you can easily paint over it if you change your mind.

Reader Sheona Harley tried this modern stripe pattern in her dining room (see the February issue of Style at Home for the finished result) and it couldn’t be easier. Here’s how…

1 Prep your wall to make sure it is smooth and clean. Then, using masking tape, simply mark off the area that you want to paint, making sure to keep the lines straight – use a spirit level and pencil to draw the areas out first if needed.

    2. Fill in the masked area with paint and leave to dry, then repeat with a second coat.

    3. When the paint is touch dry, carefully peel back the masking tape to reveal your finished stripes, and touch up any areas that may need it, with a fine paintbrush.

    4. Voila! Your finished wall. Make sure to check out the rest of Sheona’s stylish dining room in the Feb issue, out on 6th January.
